ARVIGO MAYA ABDOMINAL THERAPY & FERTILITY MASSAGE CONTRAINDICATIONS, TIMINGS, CAUTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS

 

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™ / Fertility Massage are safe and effective with few contraindications of untoward outcomes. There are certain conditions where application of these techniques are either contraindicated or require modification. Please consult with your practitioner if you have any questions.

 

WOMEN

  • During active menstruation (from about day 4 of bleed is okay to receive) we do not massage the womb, or within days of your period being due. Treatments are done either side of your period. If you are unsure of where you are in your cycle, it is best to have your next period then book in a day or so after your period finishes right up until 4-5 days before your period is due to start again. If you are actively try to conceive, do not make booking after ovulation in case of pregnancy. For classic 28 day cycle a good time to come is from approximately day 4 of cycle through until day 10 (or your ovulation). It is a good idea to track your cycle for a period of time to become familiar with timings and stages.

  • IUD (intra-uterine device for contraception) is present.

  • Immediately after abdominal surgery. Seek the advice of your physician as to when is safe to perform Abdominal Therapy.

  • Active infection or cancer present in pelvic area, or while undergoing chemotherapy.

  • During the first trimester (19 weeks) of pregnancy 

  • Hernia (gentle massage required)

  • Active and acute infection

  • Abdominal Aneurysm

  • Pessary for uterine prolapse (remove prior to your session)

 

MEN

  • Immediately after abdominal surgery. Seek the advice of your physician as to when is safe to perform Abdominal Therapy.

  • Active infection or cancer present in pelvic area, or while undergoing chemotherapy

  • Hiatial Hernia (gentle massage required)

  • Active and acute infection

  • Abdominal Aneurysm
