Holistic Pelvic Care™ is a unique pelvic re-balancing therapy that combines gentle, internal massage and emotional balancing techniques. These techniques help reestablish strength and reasonance in the pelvic musculature, improve circulation and blood flow to the muscles and organs in the pelvic bowl, and decrease pelvic floor dysfunction and symptoms such as, postpartum scar tissue,  pelvic pain, urinary leakage, or pain with intercourse.

Fascia of the pelvic bowl often becomes imbalanced due to stress, workload, emotional turmoil, illness, lack of self worth, and difficult experiences around birthing.

A woman’s pelvic bowl, her root, is the centre of her being, her centre of creativity and self expression. Traditional cultures around the world recognise a woman's womb and pelvic bowl to house the deep wisdom and intelligence we need to access to bring balance in times of need, and providing us with our own sacred medicine. In connection with the root, a woman finds clearer direction and becomes more aligned with her highest self.

Who can benefit from Holistic Pelvic Care™ sessions?

Every Woman

Within the current medical model, the field of women’s health is mostly limited to well woman exams including pap smears and issues relating to hormonal imbalance. A woman’s pelvic bowl contains a complex network of muscles and organs yet the pelvis receives little direct care. In a culture that tends to encourage the tendency for women to care for everybody and everything except for themselves, the tension that results often gets stored within the pelvic musculature and internal fascia leaving women disconnected from the wisdom that lies within their “creative feminine energy center” (the pelvic bowl). A Holistic Pelvic Care™ practitioner, can help women reconnect with their center so that they can find the strength, clarity, balance, and rejuvenation they need to create a richer and more meaningful life.

As a unique therapy that helps women revitalize and reclaim their vital energy, improves circulation and restores energetic and physical balance within the pelvis, Holistic Pelvic Care™ decreases pelvic congestion and can therefore be helpful in addressing conditions like PMS, dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps), ovarian cysts and infertility.

Postpartum Birth Integration

New mothers are often depleted and out-of-balance following pregnancy and birth. Postpartum Holistic Pelvic Care™ can help women who have recently given birth reconnect with their sacred womb space, revitalize and rebalance their core, and transform any physical or emotional discomforts/traumas that may have been experienced during or after the birthing process. Holistic Pelvic Care™ can also help speed recovery from childbirth, resolve symptoms such as pelvic musculature weakness and urinary leakage that often arise after birthing a child.

For women who have experienced a miscarriage, Holistic Pelvic Care™ can help reconnect them to their sacred womb and facilitate deeper level of healing so that they are better able to honor the spirit who had been connected to their womb and process their loss in a way that feels more complete.

Birth Trauma

Holistic Pelvic Care™ restores the balance within the pelvic bowl to release patterns of trauma that persist after difficult birth experiences. It is a gentle yet powerful therapy that can help women transition into motherhood with a greater sense of peace, joy and ease that she can focus her energy on the one thing she does best: nurture and love her new baby.

What can I expect in a Holistic Pelvic Care™ session?

Your first Holistic Pelvic Care™ session will generally be the longest, 90 minutes, where Mel will discuss your concerns, goals and intentions for treatment. This is also the time where she will discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding the therapy itself as well as any questions you may have about pelvic anatomy. The treatment involves external and internal palpation techniques to evaluate any existing trigger points as well as tension patterns within your pelvic bowl. Her assessment is used to guide your individualized Holistic Pelvic Care™ treatments, which may incorporate the use of gentle intravaginal massage, myofascial and trigger point release, as well as energetic balancing techniques. Breath, connection and visualisations are used to release and restore resonance to the pelvic bowl. The session ends with a beautiful 'closing the bones' rebozo ritual, where, honouring your body, you are gently wrapped at the feet, waist and the head then guided to drop deeper into your centre. In some instances, there may be reasons internal work will be performed on the second session and the first session will be energy focussed.

Follow-up sessions are approximately 60 minutes once the initial goals have been established. Each follow-up session will begin with a brief re-assessment but will focus primarily on treatment. The frequency and duration of treatment sessions can vary based on the severity and chronicity of your symptoms. Generally, you can expect anywhere from 1-3 sessions depending on your treatment goals.

What effects will I notice after a Holistic Pelvic Care™ session?
